The 539th Convocation of the University of Chicago was held on Saturday, June 7 2025, on the Main Quadrangle. The University of Chicago Pipe Band led distinguished faculty and degree candidates in a procession, followed by opening remarks from President A. Paul Alivisatos. Prof. Kunle Odunsi was the faculty speaker for the University of Chicago's campus-wide Convocation celebration on June 7, 2025, delivering an address entitled, ”Committing to Excellence in the Face of Life’s Challenges.” A renowned gynecologic oncologist who specializes in the treatment of ovarian cancer, Odunsi is the AbbVie Foundation Distinguished Service Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
